Dr. Junaid Ahmad is a Ph. D in Finance and Policy, and MA in Economics from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and MBA in Finance and International Business from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.
He has over 45 years of experience in senior and top level capacities and in consultancy business. Prior to establishing National Management Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd., Dr. Ahmad has had 15 years of experience in industry in senior and top management positions both in Canada and Pakistan. Dr. Ahmad has been providing advice on policy issues both at macro/public sector level as well as at micro/corporate level. He has been a Member of a number of high powered committees advising the Govt. of Pakistan, e.g. Budget Advisory Committee, Committee for Formulation of National Technology Policy, National Conservation Strategy, Environment Protection Council, Environmental Standards Committee, National Manpower Commission, etc.. He has been on the Board of Directors of numerous corporations.
Dr Ahmad has been involved in consulting and provision of business advisory services for the last 37 years. Before setting up NMC in 1986 July, he has experience of senior and top management experience at Bell Canada, National Construction Ltd. and Agriauto Industries Ltd. All three being engineering companies. At NMC he has been personally involved in promoting investments and transfer of technology in the Country.
Leadership Roles:
- Chairman: National Environmental Consulting (NEC), Pakistan’s largest environmental consulting firm.
- Founder Chairman: Vital Information Services (VIS), Pakistan’s only financial ranking and corporate data warehousing company. JCR-VIS Credit Rating Company, a major market leader, is a subsidiary of VIS.
- Founder President: Institute of Banking Finance & Management (IBFAM) (1998-2006), offering business and finance degrees later merged with IBA Karachi. IBFAM also provided extensive training programs for banking professionals.
- Chairman: APTECH Pak Operations, managing 25 computer education centers across Pakistan.
Academic Contributions:
- Author: Published book on Commerce for O’Level/IGCSE with Oxford University Press, with another book on Quranic Topics forthcoming from Amazon.
- Academician: Extensive teaching experience at the master’s level in Concordia & McGill Universities and IBA Karachi.
